I’m a data analyst working in the fields of public policy and public health. I have a Masters in Public Health from The University of Texas at Houston, with a major in Environmental & Occupational Health. I also have a B.S in Life Sciences from The University of Bombay, India.
I briefly pursued an M.S in Molecular Biology from Georgia State University until I decided that laboratory experiments weren’t my thing, and hey, you can’t be a molecular biologist without a lab, right ? So I quit and went into public health, which was one of the best decisions I ever made.
But I still enjoy learning about the wonderful ways in which life works, and I continue to be amazed by the intricate mechanisms of nature. I frequently launch into long-winded explanations of the hows and whys of biological processes, as my friends and family will sadly attest to. This blog thus also serves to preserve their sanity, acting as an outlet for my excited babbling.
I can’t end this blurb about me without a mention of Carl Sagan, a brilliant scientist and science writer, whose books introduced me to the many wonders and joys of scientific pursuit. Were this marvelous man alive today, I’d make a pilgrimage to Cornell and kiss his feet. After all, this is the man who said,
Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known.
